I am glad I had a good weekend.

32 / 365 New shelves for the office

This weekend was all about just three of us… me, my husband, and Sam. We needed it after all the craziness our lives have been since December. There were the holidays, the sickness of January, the preparation for Sam’s party in February, and the other small events that cropped up during those three months.

We planned to stick close to the house and get a few projects done but mostly try to resume a normal schedule. We cleaned and my husband hung shelves for me in our office on Saturday. On Sunday, the four (including Piper) of us went for a walk. Sam giggled for almost the entire trip, he was having that much fun. Or maybe because he liked that Piper would run from side to side of the sidewalk sniffing every scent left by other local dogs.

What I didn’t expect to happen was to watch a documentary that blew my mind. If you like your life as is and don’t want to make any changes and especially don’t want to know where your food comes from… DO NOT WATCH FOOD, INC. I REPEAT DO NOT WATCH FOOD, INC.

If you do want to know where your food comes from… if you want to make better choices for your family… if you have often wondered what people mean when they say that the food we remember from when we were kids is not the same food our children are eating now… this is the documentary for you. It is eye-opening and terrifying. It’s obviously only one side of the story but being better educated about what you feed yourself and your family is never a bad thing.
